Ideal for floor mats

Purchased for 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature (4WD). The item was delivered a day earlier than originally expected. The box arrived undamaged, the mats were well packed. The mats are mostly evenly packed, the back mat is not crumpled; It's loosely folded around the front mats, and the size of the box allows it to flex smoothly in the "hump" area of the back mat - where it needs to flex anyway. Except for this 1 "fold" the mats are packed flat. It didn't smell at all. The product looks beautiful; Hard to believe that this is a set of all-weather mats. At first glance they look almost like woven fabric (think thick Berber rug) until you touch the surface. This is not your traditional rubber-look all-weather mat. Judging by the description, I was a bit concerned about the "MAXpider" back. (I've bought stretch mesh pockets for storing small items in the back corners of the cargo area in a previous car, and the Velcro that attached them to carpet walls severely wore out the carpet when I removed the nets.) However, the back of these carpets is Velcro and not on Velcro. The entire underside has what I can only describe as fibrous whiskers that gently grip the carpet and prevent it from slipping. So right now I'm not worried about the damaged carpet. Well done 3D. (Although maybe it's an overstatement because due to the tight fit and stiffness of the mats I don't think they could slip even without this fiber feature, but from an adhesion point of view it's better to be safe than sorry.) The fit is incredible. These floor mats could not have matched the floor of this car better if they had been painted. I installed the back mat first (yes, "mat", singular, as in one continuous piece). My first thought was that there would be some sort of malfunction in the front passenger side suspension seat mount that would potentially interfere with the power seat's operation. But I pinched the folded edge of the mat slightly, and it snuggled under the seat rail next to the rail - perfect. The rugs are truly "wall to wall" and feature a discreet hem to keep liquids inside. The front mats went right in, "like they were made for it". Slightly wiggle the mat until it snaps into place and the mounting holes line up perfectly. The latches on the inside of both front mats do not "snap" into place, but they are in place and do not move until the mat is lifted. (This can actually help with easier removal for cleaning.) I was dying to know how they felt underfoot. I found them to grip well on deck shoes and sketchers even when wet (yes it rained). I haven't tried them in hard-soled leather shoes that tend to slip on any surface; but I hardly ever wear them. Since I only installed it today, I can't say anything about durability or ease of cleaning. But they look great and the material seems to be high quality. To be honest my original intention was to fit them in for the winter months and return the original floor mats in late spring. But I put the Mazda carpet mats in the bag and box the mats arrived in and may never see them again. Protect the carpet, don't be shy. I don't know why major car manufacturers don't try to work with this company to offer these floor mats as factory accessories. The only thing I think would make these floor mats better is if they had a car logo/emblem on them.
