The product is working and the humidity in my 5000 square foot home seems to have increased by about 8%. My issue with this block is that it is very cheaply built. Weak plastic constructions that I can see will become brittle in the years to come. It attaches to the camera with four screws, with no gaskets or anything to prevent air leaks. If you put your hand on the return line, you feel cool, almost room temperature, if you put your hand on the humidifier, it is very warm. There is no insulation in the block so I now have a unit in the utility room that generates heat. The bypass valve does not fully close during summer operation so you lose some capacity when air flows through the off unit. And finally, the device has a stable drop of waste water. I understand that the filter needs to be thoroughly soaked to moisturize. I would like Honeywell to make the device distribute the water more evenly across the filter at a constant rate, detect waste water and adjust accordingly. And finally, my last comment about this device, that the humidistat is cheap with a very wide working range. If you want to lock in moisture at a certain level, this piece will bring you closer to a ballpark. So, if you are looking for a cheap whole house humidifier and agree with the cons listed above, then this is the device for you.
