Worst Tape You'll Ever Buy (And Throw Away)

I've spent almost two decades remodeling my interiors and as a last resort I decided to buy masking tape online rather than going to the store for hardware. BIG MISTAKE. Last weekend I finally ran out of old trusty 3M tape and opened up the packaging of this "platinum" tape. Immediately I noticed that the texture is completely different than regular tape. It's stretchy and difficult to tear off unless you have long nails or a tool like scissors. This is a minor inconvenience compared to the main problem with this tape: IT DOES NOT STICK AT ALL! I tested on several surfaces and only had success when I applied it to GLASS. I was hoping to touch up the edges where my freshly painted kitchen cabinets meet the wall. This means that the tape has to stick to the wooden strip at some edges. The strip has a 4 cm flat surface, which is then rounded inwards. The tape will NOT stick to the flat or curved surface of the molding. Yes, the surface is clean, dry and free from debris. The end of my old 3m blue masking tape stuck to the surface perfectly. In addition, the tape is not flexible. It will not stick to curved surfaces like a quarter circle. You stick it on and it peels off in less than 30 seconds. The same thing happened when I tried sticking it to a textured wall - it peeled off in a few seconds. I tried sticking it to a flat, painted cabinet and it came loose. Tries to stick to the edge of the baseboards; it fell off immediately. Apparently it only sticks to glass. I would give this product zero stars if I could. Waste of money and this product ended up in the trash.
