Review on πŸ’» RAINBEAN Adjustable Laptop Table Stand for Bed - Portable Lap Desk with Foldable Workstation, Ergonomic Design, Notebook Riser, and Mouse Pad - Ideal for Reading, Watching TV, or Using a Computer in Bed (Blue) by Shane Black

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Just a barely passable laptop stand.

I bought the blue version because it was on sale and was 2/3 the price of the black one so I'm judging by the price I paid for it and not the normal asking price. When I opened the box there were also a few broken pieces of plastic in the box - little protrusions holding the legs. In practice they are so tight that small protrusions are not required. then it is not built to a very high standard. The legs and all joints are articulated - during use it's stable under the weight of the laptop, but every time I move it I'm surprised at how flimsy and flexible it is. I couldn't find a position where the mouse tray is in a usable position - it attaches to the side of the leg, and all usable leg positions put the mouse tray well out of reach. Also, it's very small, so I'm wondering about its usefulness even if it's placed in a convenient place. When using the Macbook Air, the edge of the shelf is too high because the front edge of the laptop is so thin, just enough to dig into my wrist. . It is more convenient to turn it over so that there is no ledge preventing the laptop from sliding down, but then of course it will slide down if you are working on a slope. All in all, if you use it as an adjustable stand to hold your laptop at a more comfortable height but use a separate keyboard/mouse on your desk, it's probably great. I can barely use it on the pass side when I'm stuck in bed recovering and needing to get the laptop into a stable, usable position. I'm still debating whether to return it and buy an alternative now. , or leave it for a few weeks when I need it and throw it away or give it away after my immediate need is gone. Using a laptop with a shelf is more convenient than without, but the shelf is also frustrating enough to use that when I'm more sedentary and don't have to worry about raising my leg, I switch right back to the laptop in my Lap. or with a laptop desk just sitting on my lap.
