I opened the case and thought everything was fine. However, when using the cap and simply holding it to put on and take off the face, the cap moves slightly. Not too much of a problem, but coming to think of it, I've always moved it a bit so it doesn't obscure the cameras etc. So now I just removed it. You really don't need a lid. My VR just sits on my face or in a charging station.
