Review on Putt Bout Putting 11 Feet Green by Kevin Harmon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Super fun and useful indoor trainer with a few downsides.

This mat has many advantages. It's long enough to take 10ft shots and wide enough to stand on the same surface when you're hitting the ball, which I think is very important since you're doing this on the field. A lot of other mats put you above the mat, which just isn't the case. The color and material really remind you that you are on a green field and the roll is much closer to reality than the carpet. The cups are also great because your ball doesn't go through anything to hit the cup like some other shoes with their cups do. Now the cons. This thing is pretty pricey for what is basically a piece of fabric measuring 3ft by 11ft. It just seems like you could buy something like this at a fabric store, but maybe not. It also tends to move around a bit, so you'll have to constantly tweak it back into place after a few hits. He also gets little bulges/bumps when he stands on it. I think the last two things can be fixed by adding velcro to the bottom to hold it in place. Another downside is that it's quite large for apartment dwellers who live in tight spaces. I had to take it to my parents because it's too big for my bachelor pad. Also, I bought mine in "like new" condition, which I believe means there was a patch of discoloration on part of the mat. Not so hot what's up. Overall, though, this thing should definitely help you get used to those seemingly "gimme" shots from 6ft and under that make you jittery when you're playing a real round. Throwing punches like this at this mat will give you a lot of confidence. It IS putts and this blanket can do it for you. It's also great for longer putts so you don't get too short or too long. So 10ft to 1ft, it will definitely help your game and that's what tutorials are for. I just wanted it to stay in place a little better and not make small bumps when I walk on it. Anti-aliasing can be annoying, but it comes at a small price for the results you get. If these things cost $20 or less I would have no hesitation in recommending them to all my golf friends. As it is I will be sharing mine with my family and friends which will make for a fun competition.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
