1) No separate charger. I either have to keep my Xbox on all the time while the batteries are charging or use an old phone charger. I overlooked the fact that it wasn't. Maybe I wouldn't have bought it if I saw it wasn't there. 2) Although you can charge batteries that are not connected to the controller, I won't do this often. They're really dangling from the charger and you don't even want to hit the charger or they'll fall off. They should be fixed better than they are. The batteries are also charged. It takes just over an hour for the indicator to turn green on the first charge (don't worry, you won't miss the indicator). I didn't have to charge them after use, but I'm sure it can be done a little faster. If they take longer I will edit this review.
