I use this to hold my dry rocks together when creating a reef aquascape and also to attach offshoots. When attaching scions to live rock, you will need to add superglue gel to both the epoxy side and the live rock side of the epoxy. Essentially you're putting the epoxy in between the superglue gel or it won't bond properly. It's annoying at first, but as you continue to attach your frags this way, you'll get better. I have found that when epoxy is used in water it never fully solidifies but remains somewhat tacky. However, when used on a dry stone and aged for 24 hours, it becomes rock hard. I had to separate one brick from the other after 24 hours and hit the brick with a hammer to break the cured epoxy. I also accidentally let the pure epoxy balls dry and the next day they turned to stone on their own. Dry Stone Aquascaping Tips: Use small pieces of stone to insert into the epoxy seams you are making to hide the epoxy. Do this for about 10 minutes or it will get too difficult by then. On rocks that just aren't stable enough and want to roll, you can add small "legs" that stabilize the rock so the "legs" don't stick to the surface they're sitting on. Just apply some stone dust particles. falling from a dry rock. I've never tried any of the other brands of reef epoxy since they're cheap (Revain is never sold in any of my local stores anyway) and I've had good luck with them. The only negative is the color, when dry it is completely white. This is fine when aquascaped with white dry rock, but hard to see on live rock under offshoots. In the attached picture most of the stones are epoxy bonded in place, some of these stones weigh several pounds and are not very well balanced. , where there are natural holes in the rock (back side) I used some zip ties to stabilize the rock as well. Purple colour, the product came and it was the green one drying to a white version so I'm not very happy they didn't send me the product pictured. and I will continue to do so as this material holds up well and is inexpensive. Updated 08/18/2020. I still use the exact same method of attaching offshoots and have had no problems with my reef aquascape. However, it's hard for me to ask if I decide to postpone something later.
