dream adventures; It's a super reliable model with great support

After breaking three cameras in four months I wanted something that could take a beating and this camera gave me joy. After 7 months he endured: - The temperature was below freezing for 2 weeks continuously. - Wading flood rivers in my pocket - Accidentally falling off a 20ft cliff onto soft ground - Caving (spelunking) in wet and dry conditions. - Accidentally falling 2ft onto concrete and then falling off 2 concrete steps in the stadium - Underwater up to 15ft in ocean, freshwater and pools for up to an hour - Hiking with a backpack - Cliff jumping in my bag from 35ft - And most recently: I was knocked out of my hands and kicked by the crowd at an open concert in the rain; found the next day. He photographed ALL of these things before and after with no problems. Support My camera broke a month ago. Surprisingly, the LCD screen shattered due to a 2 foot drop onto the sidewalk (pictures were still being taken, although I couldn't see what I was taking). After contacting support, I sent it in for repair. From the first contact to receiving the stationary camera, it took 7 days! Also, the fix was free since it didn't work under normal conditions and was covered under warranty. Good: - Durable, waterproof - Good image quality (takes getting used to) - 5x optical zoom - Fast and helpful customer support - About 400 high-resolution images in internal storage capacity - About 250 high-resolution images per battery charge. Bad: - Slow startup - Buttons on the back are covered in plastic with a wearing metal coating - Images tend to be blurry indoors (generally this seems to be an Olympus issue) Image Quality Initially I was disappointed with the image quality as it seemed poor . However, after about a month of use, I was able to easily and fully compensate for the camera performance and capture great quality images. This is not the quality of DSLRs, but comparable to other point-and-shoot recordings. Nuts and Bolts This camera is perfect for those of us who want to slip a camera in our bag and go without worrying about it. Because of this, I take pictures that few people take because they are worried about their camera. Whether it's on the beach, on a mountain trail, or in a snowstorm, I can take my camera with me and take great pictures. Also, I can get to places where no one else can take pictures. (Example: many people photograph people jumping off a cliff, but few can take photos from the water while looking up at someone jumping.) This camera exceeded my expectations and is truly an adventure dream. I highly recommend it.
