dream adventures; It's a super reliable model with great support

After breaking three cameras in four months I wanted something that could take a beating and this camera gave me joy. After 7 months he endured: - The temperature was below freezing for 2 weeks continuously. - Wading flood rivers in my pocket - Accidentally falling off a 20ft cliff onto soft ground - Caving (spelunking) in wet and dry conditions. - Accidentally falling 2ft onto concrete and then falling off 2 concrete steps in the stadium - Underwater up to 15ft in ocean, freshwater and pools…

I have had many cameras from Olympus in the past but this is my first camera that I have bought from their 'hard' line have. As advertised, this item looks and feels very durable. The seals on it look like they can withstand all kinds of moisture and dust, and the lens has its own protective case and cap to protect it from scratches or damage. The lens also doesn't extend or retract, so dust, sand and dirt can't clog it (a problem I've had before). It also has a minimum of buttons to break or…

Poor image quality, poor customer service, prone to breakage

I carry my stuff in harsh environments and this camera seems to hold up while still taking great pictures. Firstly, this camera replaces the SW720 that I had for 3 or 4 years. My son took it to Vietnam so I replaced it with this one. The 720 has always taken really good pictures for me, and I've pumped it up in a downpour, skied in sub-zero temperatures, and lugged it through Kansas and Colorado in July in a sweat-soaked cycling jersey, all without any disease effects.
