Does a good job of moving air. I am in north Texas and it is July and August. This fan keeps me comfortable from about 20 feet away blowing into a garage that I have to work in. Sure the ambient air is warm and with this thing initially set on 2 early mornings and 3 or 4 later in the day.we are very happy to have this air movement. I also use on patio blowing a decent distance again and very nice. If you crank it up you will find that the air action will keep insects from trying to get a meal from you. Did some work inside in bathroom tiling and found that this can dry out an area by air movement quickly rather than using a dehumidifier to get things dry before caulking or etc. The channeling of air and the speed of which it can move is very useful in tasks to make it more comfortable or quick to achieve the result at hand. The FC-300 moves some air and is light enough to use and carry to accommodate your needs. You will be surprised with air movement comparing your traditional fan even in the 24-inch area. Noise is very manageable as in setting 2 and below.you can talk and hear easily within a room. At the 3 and above setting, you may be drying something or trying to stay cool or maybe moving air in an area that you have toxic things happening like plasma cutting and the like.noise at that point yields to other objectives. Lots of fans in my time and very few meet the needs like XPower. Do not hesitate.take one for a spin
