Review on πŸ‹ KitchenAid Lemon Squeezer - No Mess Citrus Juicer, One Size by Deejay Cowan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent but beware plastic bottom

This manual lemon squeezer has a strainer to prevent seeds from getting into the food and works with a simple squeeze. You cut a lemon in half, place it skin-side up, and squeeze it. The spout helps but isn't ideal for pouring juice into any container, and you can actually squeeze quite a few lemons or limes fairly quickly and thoroughly. Once it's done, it's easy to clean in the dishwasher. No Mess is something of a misnomer as pressing will still squirt juice down the sides - fairly inevitable - but it rests on the table top so you can use leverage to get better and bigger pressure - useful for humans who lack arm strength for any reason (arthritis, etc.). The strainer part is mainly there to keep the seeds out of the juice, although again there will be juice leaking out the sides and you can get a little confused pulling the lemon out as the strainer/seeds can slosh the juice out if you do it too hastily. I wish the strainer was on top and not just upside down as that would be a lot less messy and that way it would be easier to fully clean the juicer. For me the biggest downside is that the bottom is plastic rather than metal and feels less durable than I would like for a filter at this price point. Also, it doesn't seem to generate as much pressure and extraction as my all-metal model. But otherwise it works well, and being able to easily mount it on the counter, even if you're not using it as a lever, is a nice improvement over traditional round-bottom juicers.

Pros
  • complete set
Cons
