Review on Cable Matters 100-Pack 8mm Strain Relief Boots: Black, Ideal for Large Diameter Cables by Jason Ballard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Too big for a solid ethernet cable 23 AWG

I ran a 40 and 110 foot cable from my Fios router to the upstairs living room and bedroom along with about a dozen short patch cords. I used TRENDnet TC-CT68 (crimping tool), Cable Matters 180064-SOLID (RJ45 Modular Jacks), and Monoprice 114768 (23awg Cat6 Ethernet Bulk Cable). These strain reliefs were too big and not really needed, so I didn't use them. They also make it difficult to connect an Ethernet cable to the connector.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Damaged
