We eat A LOT of waffles at home. I've been making them in a Pokemon waffle maker for three years. Finally upgraded to this cooking unit. The Chefman heats up quickly, and while the blue ready light is dim, it's visible when there's no sunlight. The non-stick coating works great. We have probably 50 waffles on this thing and I have NEVER spilled oil on it. The waffles come out easily.
