Review on Plugable Compatible Thunderbolt Supports Resolutions by Ricky Khan

Blame it on a terrible headache known as USB-C standards

This is a small and light plastic adapter. I used to have a uni hdmi 4k60hz adapter that was much better with a metal body and braided flex cable. This worked on my Lenovo Ideapad 720s but not on my Samsung Galaxy book which only gave me 30Hz. I thought it was because the Galaxy Book's USB 3.1 Gen1 ports lacked bandwidth, but regardless of gen or bandwidth, if the USB-C port can support video, it should be able to support a DP 1.2 Play signal with four tracks available. , which reaches 4k60hz. And yes, the Galaxy Book CAN support 4k60hz and this plug-in adapter did it with no fuss. The Uni adapter is much more popular but I don't know why it doesn't work. The terrible headaches known as USB-C standards, or lack thereof, are to blame. While the uni is much more heavily built, the plug-in has its own charm of being light and half the size. And when you have a book about the galaxy, you have no choice.
