I bought Mr. Tuffy Bicycle for his Giant Defy Advanced after he was frustrated with flat tires. In the high deserts of southern California, small spikes called goatheads are everywhere and a threat to road bikes. I averaged a flat tire for every alternate ride before I finally got frustrated and started looking for solutions. Since ordering these tires I have clocked up 500 miles before my first tire blew out. So all in all a great buy. Fitting these tires isn't too bad and can be done on either bike in about 30 minutes. They work great in most cases and significantly reduce the number of apartments. However, they are not magical barriers and do not completely eliminate flats. A large nail or thorn will go through. But judging by the number of apartments I've gotten so far and the associated cost of changing bulbs, they've paid for themselves in the last two months. I would recommend them to all road bike owners.
