I spent a lot of money to get a long HDMI cable and I thought this might be it. I'm using this to connect my computer's graphics card to a UHD TV. So one of its ends is exposed to the residual heat of the graphics. Not much since the graphics card is water-cooled. Less than a year later, with the computer on, I noticed periodic black flickers on the TV, sometimes with great frequency, and sometimes the picture with noise completely disappeared. This is more and more likely the longer the computer is on. After checking many possible problems, I looked at this HDMI cable and the side that was connected to the graphics card - the case is starting to open! Who knows what other cheap solder joints might destabilize with a slight thermal effect. In any case, I replaced it with a much cheaper but well-known HDMI cable and the black flickering issue was instantly gone by firmly pointing my finger at that HDMI cable. I've never had an HDMI cable fail like this, and a failure in less than a year at this price point is frankly offensive to the consumer. Buy an HDMI cable elsewhere.
