Very good remote shutter release but with a very short cord

I bought this to use with my Canon Powershot SX50 HS so I can remotely release the shutter when shooting at high zoom levels when the camera is on a tripod is mounted. I wanted this to prevent camera shake (and resulting blurry image) without resorting to using a timer on the camera itself. The remote control does exactly what you expect it to, triggering the camera's shutter, and since it doesn't require batteries, it's always ready to go without a hitch. It works very well and overall I'm very happy I bought it. The cable is very short, which is not a big problem, when standing directly in front of the camera, but if you want to move away from the camera at all, the short cable becomes a major obstacle. This is easy (and cheap) to fix by purchasing a 2.5mm headphone extension cable. I purchased a 12 foot 2.5mm stereo headphone extension cable from Your Cable Store (available here at Revain for less than $7 at the time of writing) which now gives me a total cable length of 14 have foot However, the short cable length is the main reason why I deduct the star. Short cable aside, this is a quality remote release for supported Canon cameras including the Powershot SX50 HS and I would recommend it to anyone who has a supported camera with no problems (although I would recommend buy an extension cord). at the same time to make your life easier.)
