Very good remote shutter release but with a very short cord

I bought this to use with my Canon Powershot SX50 HS so I can remotely release the shutter when shooting at high zoom levels when the camera is on a tripod is mounted. I wanted this to prevent camera shake (and resulting blurry image) without resorting to using a timer on the camera itself. But the picture and description clearly state that it is connected with a cord, so just arguing about semantics at this point. Even Canon calls it a remote switch, so take it with you. In my opinion the main reason for buying it is to get rid of the very slight but potentially noticeable shaking of your hand on the
