Nice pen for MPP compatible laptops.

I've read great reviews about the Renaisser Raphael 520 and have been using this stylus for a few months now. Now I bought this model (Raphael 520C) hoping to get a modest upgrade. I use it for my Asus VivoBook Flip 14 2-in-1 PC (model TM420UA) which I mainly use for programming and digital art. My main pen programs are Krita, Gimp and Blender. Using the tablet tester in the Krita settings, I see pressure readings from 40% to 100% and "almost" with any pen. It's hard to tell if the sensitivity range is limited by a laptop or a stylus, but since it's the same for two styluses, I'm guessing it's a laptop. Since this laptop is only MPP 1.0 compatible, I can't see any tilt readings, although an MPP 2.0 compatible stylus should provide them. I was hoping they would have a programmable button at the top like the Raphael 520BT, but unfortunately they don't. The button on the side works for quick access to the eraser and menus, but as far as I know they are not programmable. The new pen feels a little lighter, but I don't have a scale accurate enough to tell the difference. I love that it now has USB-C as a lot of my devices use this connection, but I can't expect to be getting rid of micro-USB cables any time soon. It's also worth noting that the included USB-C cable appears to be for charging only and may not have data transfer capabilities, likely because data through the pen's USB port is unlikely to be required. Unsurprisingly, the stylus doesn't work while charging. Overall I think this model is still a really good stylus, no better or worse than the 520.

Pros
  • Ergonomic design
Cons
