This is the only thing I will be using for my cutlery (silverware, jewelry and a few miscellaneous items). As mentioned, there is no real smell and no gloves etc are required. This polish works easily on silver, which is especially important on the silver plate. Items with heavy tarnishing may require a second cleaning, but I find that a gentle cleaning is worth the extra time. After cleaning, the shiny surface remains for a long time. I especially like that it's safe for multi-stone jewelry - I've even used it on beads set in sterling silver. I have vintage Vermel jewelry (gold instead of sterling); Cream polish removes tarnish from base silver and restores shine to gold without removing it (i.e. items that have been polished repeatedly for years and the gold is still there). I use this with the included sponge, toothbrush and toothpick to get into crevices. A toothbrush is especially useful when rinsing parts to remove paint. The softness of this cleaner becomes clear to me when I found a few pieces of jewelry with polish in the gap and they were intact. Use common sense about where you do it and how you handle the brush. Spray polishes are easily washed off with water.
