I chose one of these to light up my front entryway as it is compact and HomeKit compatible. The light works great and is very easy to set up. While it's bright enough for my purposes, it doesn't fill a living room or even a bedroom (at least not a whole one by itself), so it's worth keeping that in mind. If desired, it can also be used as a bedside lamp or table lamp. I'm very happy with it, but overall I prefer the more premium look of the Meross smart bulb, which is also a bit brighter, so I'd say spend a few bucks more for high-visibility places like your desk. It's larger, but its footprint is similar. So unless you're putting it on a bookshelf or entertainment center where height is a constraint, I'd probably lean towards it.
