Great Desktop Environment and Workspace Manager

The desktop environment feels really nice to me, it flows well together for my liking (as I said in other reviews). The windows manager provides some great features like tiling or floating panels - which can be used as workspaces with different applications/sessions.It has its own DE called xfce4-panel which makes life easier while setting up new users /etc setups since you don't need all packages from gnome etc installed when using this OS only.I think there's still room for improvement regarding hardware support but overall everything seems pretty decent so far.

For daily work tasks nothing comes even close compared what i'm doing right now. It gets heavy sometimes though if multiple tabs are opened at once e.g web browsers so I'd say 16GB RAM + 1TB SSD will do just fine! Setting stuff up again after moving to another machine was very easy because most things were already configured by default.

Pros
  • Great interface
  • Lightweight
  • Lots & lots customization possibilities(both visually AND technically)
  • Good community involvement through projects such lxde
  • Upgraded versions available almost every 6 months.
  • Many ways around problems that arises during initial installations.
  • Not expensive either
Cons
  • Some cons
