Buckles are a big deal. My daughter has a thin foot and this half closed buckle does not close on her leg because it is not closed properly. I thought it was a defect until I saw other reviews about it and realized the manufacturer did it on purpose. i give them back Too bad, because otherwise they are visually appealing.
