This is a great companion camera for outdoor use.

I bought this camera about a year and a half ago mainly for photos taken from the kayak. I have taken over 1000 shots with this camera and have not been disappointed in its performance. It was in a duck ambush, in a pheasant field, in the ocean for underwater photography, and on a ski hill during snow storms. Holds up well and takes good pictures. It's been dropped, dunked, dunked in salt water, and it still works like magic. It works in low temperatures and scorching hot climates. The construction is very solid and looks almost new despite abuse. The most important thing for a waterproof camera is that it doesn't leak. My kayak guides me in both salt and fresh water. I kayak a lot in and around Lake Tahoe in the summer and the waves often break at the bow. I keep this camera in my PFD (life jacket) bag and it regularly gets wet even when wet. If it is wet you must be careful to wash the drops off the lens as this will ruin the picture. In addition, the camera controls are easy to use and intuitive.

Pros
  • Waterproof to 10ft, shockproof to 5ft and dustproof
Cons
  • Very expensive camera
