I bought this camera about a year and a half ago mainly for photos taken from the kayak. I have taken over 1000 shots with this camera and have not been disappointed in its performance. I bought this camera in August 2009, just after it was launched. The intention was to use it while snorkeling in the Caribbean on a cruise. I used it underwater on three different days during this cruise. Although the viewfinder fogged up a bit, everything else seemed to be working fine.
