I thought if it was such a versatile item the wash would be on all sides. Oh no! Either move the ottoman against something (wall, bed, etc.) without using the drawers (hmm, the drawers are what attracted me to this piece of furniture in the first place), or buy an extra ottoman. and slide them back to back (if you have floor space). If none of the above ideas work for you, you might want to think twice before purchasing this item. Otherwise you will get a black fabric bottom as one of the sides; making it tasteless and incomplete. Now I like the color as it matches our sofa protector we have for our puppies. And the boxes are cool. However, if I had been more diligent and read more than a few reviews, I would not have bought this so-called "ottoman". And the box arrived too crumpled so I can't use it to return the item. Yes I could get another box or get creative and work with what I have. I go with the last option.
