One of my straps on my new sandal is stuck. I did a little research and found that this is common with used sandals and if you soak them in fabric softener and a water solution the strap usually comes loose. I went to the store, bought some fabric softener, made a 50/50 mix and soaked it for about half an hour. I then tried to pull the straps and they didn't move. I made it even wetter and pulled the strap while it was in the water and still nothing. It got to the point where I felt like the insole might break if I pull harder and it doesn't budge. I soaked it a few more times and repeated the process, nothing. Then I googled how often this happens with new sandals and everything I've read says that new sandals should have the straps move slightly. They were clearly defective. Not only is it frustrating to have received a defective pair, but I'm going on vacation tomorrow (I received my Chaco today) and I have a pair that I can't wear when travelling. and it's also too late to buy a pair if I don't want to go to the store and pay a higher price. For this reason I cannot recommend the product, as much as I would like to recommend it to others. With all the great things I've heard about this brand, I thought I had no problem and would enjoy a great sandal that I could wear for years. Unfortunately this is not my experience.
