I bought 2 of the 15.8" primarily for aesthetic reasons as the old bulbs they replaced were 15". They are the main lighting in the downstairs living area and I thought a larger size would look better in the room. I also thought that bigger headlights would have better coverage. Installation is easy, although as a perfectionist I made it harder than necessary for myself. The wires were fine, I didn't have to strip them again. They came with quick connectors and wire nuts. I chose wire nuts as there are many videos showing that wire nuts have the best contact area. The tricky part was that as a perfectionist I had to remove the lights multiple times to adjust the mounting bracket, loosening/tightening each screw to ensure the gap around the top of the light was as even as possible. Because the lights are perfectly flat at the top, any bumps in the ceiling structure and imperfections will affect how close the light gets to the ceiling. I think the larger diameter affects that as well, as the plastic top can flex a bit under the weight of the light. Anyway, the maximum I could get was a distance of 5-7 mm from the ceiling. Overall I am very happy with the looks and the brightness is excellent. They are noticeably brighter than the replaced bulbs which had 3 60w bulbs each. I went with the 3000K, they are a little less yellowish than the incandescent bulbs they replaced. The style is great. There is no switch-on delay. Minor complaints and why I didn't give them 5 stars: * They make random popping noises for about 10 minutes when first turned on or off. I'm assuming their plastic cases are expanding. /Shrinkage due to temperature changes.* White is off-white. Other reviewers mentioned this so I knew about this when I bought them, but I don't know why they didn't just make them white. They're close enough, but overall I'm happy with the look. Overall I think this is the best choice if you are looking for a larger size. However, I also purchased and reviewed a similar "13" (12.79") light from a competitor which I think would be a better choice if you want the 12" version in white. The competitor's lamp is pure white, has a metal back so it doesn't make a popping noise, is brighter (than the 12-inch version), dimmable, and cheaper. That's right, it's only available in white, so if you need other colors, Taloy is the right choice.
