I bought these to connect a subwoofer to my daughter's 4Runner. She wanted to be able to turn off the system in case she needed to remove the big box to make room to carry it. I didn't want her unscrewing the terminals and worried that she might reverse polarity or ground a hot wire to the chassis. I was also concerned that she was driving with an exposed hot wire in the rear. Bought and installed after a long search. Now she can turn off the subwoofer instantly without tools and I don't have to worry about her shorting out the battery wire. As it has a 3 wire connector I ordered a blue case complete with red and black. There are many colors to choose from. Now she can remove and reconnect her subwoofer herself without tools and I don't have to worry about electrocution and short circuits. See attached photo. It's like little Lego bricks. They are extremely precise and connect to form a terminal block. You can order pins to hold the blocks together but nobody seems to need them. Don't be discouraged that it may seem difficult to insert the wire into the plastic at first, it takes a little practice but once connected it is a strong and secure connection. You won't find a better solution and you won't want anything else. You don't need male and female parts; they are androgynous. Just turn and plug in. They are available in 15/30/45 amps and can withstand up to 240V. The case is the same for all currents, the difference is only in the plug.
