Feels like the button should be on the other side

I like it but the button looks like it's on the wrong side and the workmanship looks cheap. I would have preferred the nice natural copper/brass finish rather than this weird old style finish that's covered in a protective layer and just not very well done. I would prefer it to have a natural patina or no patina so I can observe the patina as it ages.
