What I need for GPS system accessories

Update July 27, 2018: Newly purchased complete Garmin dash mount and arm have the same tool holes and molding marks that are part of AccessoryBasics. , so the visual differences I've reported below only apply to older Garmin ball arms. Years ago I bought a Garmin dash base (not a ball joint) for an older GPS that used a different type of dash base adapter. The times have changed. , and Garmin's rattle mount provided me with a (lone) ball arm for their later GPS clamps, which I've used with either the old Dash mount or the rattle mount from time to time. always ready to use with any mount. The AccessoryBasics swing arm fits my GPS mounts and clamps just like the Garmin part. <strike>I only found visual differences</strike>. A few small (instrumental?) holes in the base of the lever and a continued mold mark around the <strike>ball end are signs that something is wrong,</strike> but doesn't detract from use. If you need a replacement part or replacement Garmin compatible ball arm, this part will work.
