Review on πŸ€ Unveiling the Wilson NCAA Replica Game Basketball: An Authentic Experience by Edwin Cen

A good starting ball but has its own characteristics.

I am writing this from the perspective of a former high school player who regularly attends the local fitness facility 24 hours a day. I've had the ball for about seven months now and have played hundreds of matches and shootouts with it. I grew up with the more expensive and higher quality Evolution basketballs and a few other NFHS basketballs. The first thing you'll notice upon unboxing is that the ball isn't nearly as orange as the pictures show. It is an orange color with a deep pink tint. If you held an Evolution/Solution/TF1000 next to it you would see a world of difference. The ball has decent grip (great for its price range) and is suitable for a cue ball. If you don't play basketball much and/or don't intend to take it very seriously, this ball is best for 95% of players. The ball isn't nearly as soft and spongy as the Evolution, which is a potential plus in competitive games where an accurate shooter will beat someone who relies on touch to shoot. When thrown it looks more like a regular leather ball than a compound ball. Things I don't always like about the ball: 1) It had a weird rebound, especially for the first few months of using it. I was having a very hard time handling the ball in games until I dropped it. While I may not be a slasher, I learned the tricks I've practiced for years (one-step transition, dribble over and down, etc.) but this ball didn't go exactly where I bounced it, resulting in a sloppy result resulted in handling. . Switch to Evolution and I look like a competent ball handler. 2) It may not last as much playing time as I put into it. In the photos you can already see the wear and tear. It's only twice a week for 2 hours straight. 3) This might be a personal quibble, but the barcode location grip is buttery smooth when gaming. What were they thinking? Generally a decent score. I'll probably buy a ball again until it really shows its wear and tear. When I do that, I go back to evolution or resolution.
