Last update on 10/12/20 The seller helped identify the problem as my keyboard and mouse require USB 2.0 ports, of which there was only 1 on this unit. Support was very helpful and communicative and eventually sent me an updated device. So I ended up getting an even better item, but it was still a pain with all the returns and general inconvenience of a semi-functional original purchase. I've had to rearrange my keyboard/mouse configuration several times a month since receiving it, which defeats the purpose of the device. It's very convenient when it works, but I can't rely on a stable connection with my mouse or keyboard. It was a lot smaller than I expected which was actually perfect for what I wanted. It's easy to use and set up, and switching between computers is quick and easy. I particularly liked the fact that all the necessary cables are included. The only issue I had was that my computer would sometimes lose communication with the keyboard when I swiped through this panel. This only happens on my gaming PC - the computer connected to port 2 of KVM never has a problem - so it could be a PC but I've never had a problem connecting a keyboard directly. To be fair, I didn't try to switch which PC to which port. I also had an issue where the keyboard just stopped working or I suddenly lost all but letter keys (again only with a gaming PC and when running through a KVM switch) and I had to re-power the KVM to get it to close get it working. So, sometimes it's a bit buggy. If I ever play a tournament I will definitely use a direct PC connection, but other than that the convenience it adds to my setup is worth the instability. The 09/02/2020 update is now bad as it affects basic usage and not just games. I tried swapping the port the keyboard is connected to. It usually disconnects and reconnects after a second or two, but sometimes it just loses the keyboard completely and I have to unplug it. I had to connect the keyboard directly to the PC for it to work, which defeats the purpose of the KVM switch. 4th September 2020 update (full troubleshooting checklist) that I'm trying to connect my keyboard to a USB 2.0 input instead of either of the two switches labeled for keyboard/mouse input and that seems to complete the problem to have solved. Since doing this I haven't had a drop. So I'm increasing my rating to 5 stars for good customer service and a device that works 100% as expected. I think my keyboard is using some power, which I wasn't aware of. 9/5/20 Well, now the mouse only works when plugged into a port. It doesn't work when plugged into either of the two keyboard/mouse ports, only the USB 2.0 port the seller recommended me for the keyboard. Whether or not this NEW configuration catches on, I'm taking off 2 stars for the sheer frustration and the fact that basically every time I use this thing I have to crawl under my desk to rearrange the cables, which is exactly what they should have. impede.
