The bass is "there," but it's not quite at the right volume for use in media like movies and music. The absence of a subwoofer can be felt. Example. So that you may hear the sound of rain and the talk of the humans, there is a sequence from "Jurassic Park" (the scene where the tyrannosaurus breaks and exits through the fence). A tremor is transmitted by the dinosaur's roar, yet the heavy foot it uses to approach produces neither dull bass or concussive impact. (Which need to be there for explosions, building collapses, etc.) The soundbar is fine, but a bit pricey for what it offers.
