I am comparing this magnetic clasp to one I bought in a store a few years ago. This clasp is lighter so lightweight necklaces will not weigh down or pull back. I also can't pull the chain to separate the magnets. This silver clasp also has a smaller profile than the bulky gold clasp that I'm also comparing. I am lucky to have a man who loves to spoil me with jewelry. The shame is I can't wear it all the time as I constantly take off my necklaces to shower, sleep and work out. I just stopped wearing it so I didn't have to take it off all day. These magnets are a great solution for making sure my jewelry doesn't fall off and gives me the freedom to put it on and take it off throughout the day. I've bought other similar ones in department stores. The big gold one was bought a few years ago. While this allows me to put the necklaces on and off, the magnets weren't very strong and it could be ripped apart just by letting the necklace hang on something. In addition, gold was heavy, so light necklaces would be pulled on my neck or a magnet would sneak around and take the beauty of the jewelry.
