Fantastic camera. if/when it works

Update April 17, 2019 Revain's support is much better than Canon and replaced the housing I was having trouble with. The replacement seems to work. In half an hour I took over 600 photos and several videos. Only once I had a problem with loss of connection between body and lens (Tamron 18-300), but it was fixed immediately. has no flaws. ----- I bought this camera because I wanted to upgrade my old Rebel XT DSLR. I was also looking for something that would allow me to develop my skills. Pros: Some of the features I liked about the XT are the movable touchscreen and some buttons for quick access to settings. Since the camera performs better in low light, I played around with very basic astrophotography and was not disappointed. Why 1 star?: This is where it gets difficult. The first day I had the camera I used it quite a bit (as I'm sure most people do). After about 15-30 minutes of intensive use, the camera froze. The shutter remains open. The touchscreen and all controls were unresponsive. The only option was to turn off the power, remove the battery and start over. I gave Canon 2 a chance to fix the camera. Both times the camera was stated to be working properly. The first time they told me that my 3 Canon lenses and 1 Tamron lens were causing the problem. The second time they told me I don't understand buffering. I firmly believe that while the phone support staff are fantastic, there is a fundamental lack of communication between them and the repair staff. You won't know until you return the camera if they actually fixed the problem or if they think you're an idiot for not reading the manual. I simply cannot recommend this camera based on my experience. . When investing in Canon, be aware that your mileage may vary. You can either stick with the T7i or upgrade to the 80D. I plan to return the camera at this point and re-evaluate my choice not only with the body but also with the manufacturer.
