I bought this to wear while riding a unicycle. I fell without a pad and afterwards I was worried that I could easily break my bones if I wasn't protected. This jacket gives me confidence that everything will be fine for me. A bit lukewarm, but compromises are not a problem for me. I am 6ft 170lbs. I bought a large but could go down a size. Removing the wash pads is fairly easy, although the forearm and elbow pads are a bit more difficult to remove.
