Review on Talking Watches Visually Impaired Time Day Date by Cara Ruiz

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Came with a broken belt buckle. Does not speak clearly or loudly enough to be helpful.

WHY I BUY THIS WATCH I bought this for my visually impaired wife because I realized: A. It is a unisex style that would suit a woman. It fits on a small woman's wrist. It was loud enough to be easily heard. D. He spoke clearly. It should be well made with metal for the body and the buckle and leather for the strap. Pros: 1. The delivery was fast and the packaging looked safe.2. The watch was packed in its own box and mailed in a heavy-duty envelope.2. Came with a printed instruction that could be read without magnification.3. The black leather strap looked beautiful.4. The watch was wrapped around a block of foam, had heavy duty clear plastic to protect the lens, and a small plastic clip to prevent the winding stem from being accidentally pushed in and activating the battery. Uses a standard watch battery, available almost everywhere. Cons: 1. The gold metal buckle broke the first time I tried to fasten the strap. One part attaches to the watch strap, the other part looks like a horseshoe with a pin. The part that has come loose is attached to the part that attaches to the bracelet, like the pin used to attach a bracelet to a watch, using a small stick with spring-loaded pins on each end. I've replaced many watch straps over the years, so I was only mildly annoyed that I had to have a new clasp repaired immediately. After struggling with it for over 2 hours without success, I finally gave up! 2. The watch strap is too big for my wife's wrist.3. The watch is large and looks like a men's watch. It's not like what women wear.4. Programming the watch was tedious for me. I leave it to you.5. The volume of the voice is very weak and the speaking rate is very high, making it difficult to hear unless the watch is held close to the ear. There is an option to choose a male or female voice, but we don't think it makes a significant difference. RECOMMENDATION: 1. A man may like a watch if he doesn't mind holding it close to his ear when he wants to hear the time, but that doesn't make up for the speaker's speaking rate. This is NOT a women's watch. Size, style and band are too big.3. It is not acceptable to have defective parts new out of the box. I do not recommend this watch. ** I returned them.
