Not a bad product, but there are a few downsides.

measurements must be in imperial and metric (they are only metric). The screws break easily, so pre-drill the holes. I bought this for a vanity I built that has a door that slides down. The solid white oak door is 1" tall by approximately 28" wide by 16" tall. The last thing I wanted was for the kids to grab the handle and fall on them. The idea behind the purchase was To slow down the rate at which the door fell and I can tell it fell, but I was expecting a slower rate, I wish I could find something more permanent, but it definitely helped to the point where I'm not too worried my rig's safety factor was probably 1/5 before I bought them and now it's probably 6.5/10.

Pros

AUTO-STRETCH - Overall length: 7.9" (compressed) to 11.4" (stretched). Travel is 3.5 inches. The compact hinge moves out automatically when the lid is opened and does not get in the way.
