Use powerful drill motor with bits.
I bought these bits to build my husband's guitar. He used a powerful 120 VAC drill press to test it on kiln dried maple and the drill bit he used cut very well. He said that cutting wood requires a 1/2 inch drill bit with weight and torque. The battery-powered drill did not have enough weight.
