My 12 week old Goldador has been using it for 2 weeks now. To be honest it was a real blessing to have this cold pack for her in the cage while she was cage trained. It tends to be very hot and living here in Texas doesn't help one bit, especially now that the full wrath of summer is upon us. At first she didn't even want to go into the kennel, let alone be locked in it, but as soon as she felt the ceiling, she immediately went inside and lay down. I had no problem with her wanting the kennel now that she has it. She even climbs into the kennel after a game if she gets too hot. The rug itself is quite heavy. We have a 36x24x27 kennel and have opted for a larger mat although it is slightly larger. We have now folded it in half for you. It doesn't slip, even if it moves a lot. I will say that if you have a dog/puppy that likes to chew, you need to watch the corners of the mat. She didn't immediately start chewing on the mat, instead catching him around a corner while chewing on one of her sticks, causing some damage to the mat. The cooling gel hasn't leaked out yet, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it. Otherwise this item is great! It's also very easy to clean. She had an upset stomach and I couldn't get her out fast enough so she left me a nice thick muddy stool to clean up. Washable immediately, no scratches, no stains, no residual odor. Cleans up easily with paper towels and a quick spritz of a small amount of Odoban. If you have a dog/puppy that gets very hot or you live in a hotter climate I would definitely recommend buying one of these. To be honest it has made cage training a lot easier and my pup is definitely more comfortable.
