I use these suction cups to attach various objects to the outside of my caravan. The trailer walls are fiberglass and are excellent for this purpose. They fit well and are easy to put on and take off thanks to the lever release mechanism. D rings pivot at the attachment point and S hooks do not have a secure locking mechanism. For some purposes I've simply replaced the S hooks with small carabiners that fit nicely on my towel rail and organizer. The D-rings weren't good for other uses like my antenna and projector screen as they could rotate in their housing, causing "wiggles" and wobbles. this shortcoming. To create a "positive attachment point," I simply disassembled the cup by pressing on the base, which raised the lever attachment point over the side of the plastic body. After lifting, the locking pin holding the lever arm fell slightly out of where the lever was attached. I then drilled and countersunk a hole in the flat part of the metal bracket that holds the D-rings and installed a countersunk screw with lock washers and regular flat washers. This allowed me to add various attachments to the bolt to provide a rigid attachment point. The mount shown in the photo is a Quick Fist 1"-2-1/4" clip that worked very well to quickly mount my antenna mast. I bought 10 of these suction cups and can only recommend them. The need to change them is a minor downside, but the change was quick and easy.
