Review on RYMEK Typewriter Style Mechanical Keyboard: Wired & Wireless, Tablet Stand, Bluetooth (Black) by Benjamin Glasper

I had high hopes for this item when I first bought it. I loved the retro style of the old typewriter and honestly it didn't disappoint when I opened the box. This was my first mechanical wireless keyboard. I liked the feel of the keys, especially the saddle shape, and mechanical keyboards are definitely more comfortable to type on than their counterparts. However, there is definitely a trade-off here, and that concerns noise. This keyboard is several orders of magnitude louder than non-mechanical ones. So if you're typing fast, it might disturb others in the room. The biggest issue I had with this keyboard is the key backlight options. Most of the lighting effects were outrageous and reminded me of a nightclub field. It doesn't contribute to typing at all and is very distracting. You might think it would be easy to have a simple constant glow on all the buttons so you can see in the dark. But that wasn't an option. It was either waves of glowing keys going back and forth, or you had the option to only light up a key AFTER you pressed it. This lack of design makes absolutely no sense. If you're in a low-light environment, you'll have a hard time finding the right button to press. I don't need it to light up after trying to find it. Bluetooth pairing was also more complicated than it should be, with not-so-great instructions. It is not recognized after many attempts. You have to do 3 different key presses to enter pairing mode and the keyboard didn't show that the sequence was done correctly. Finally managed to mate. There might be a much better way to perform the pairing. I returned this item due to the above defects which made the price I paid for something that wasn't perfect overpriced.
