Blades do not stay in line

This is my 2nd purchase of this slicer (the first time I bought it at a brick and mortar). The original one worked great for about 3 years (until I snapped the plastic hinge on a WAY too large strawberry. acrylic isn't exactly known for its strength), so I got excited to see this was a 2-pack. I washed it, and when I went to use this replacement unit the first time, the blades were all wiggly. Just opening and closing it (without anything in it) was a challenge. I barely got through 4 normal sized strawberries, and had to manually fidget with it to get the blades to come down where they needed to be, and then 2 of the blades were so loose that they tried dislodging from the plastic when I went to open it. A little dangerous, because trying to push them back into line requires you to press directly on the SHARP part of the blade :OKind of bummed. I really liked my old one. Not sure why the replacement slicer is so shoddy. Seems like they cheaped out on the quality :/ I'll be purchasing something a little better constructed next time.

Pros
  • Ruibo
Cons
  • Doesn’t work
