Review on HumanCentric VESA Mount Adapter Bracket – Compatible with Acer Monitors R240HY, SB220Q, SB270, and More, Patent Pending by Jesse Gray

I am one of those idiots who bought Acer monitors because the price was right and I never thought I would need a Vesa mount . Now years later I decided to remove the monitors from my desk and mount them on a triple mount, so I was very happy that Human Centric found a solution! They once had an adapter that DID said was compatible with the G277HL, but now it shows it's out of stock with no estimated return date. It's been out of stock for so long that it looks like it's no longer in production, which makes sense given that the monitor itself hasn't been made in years. So I started looking at this adapter and found that the connector looks the same as it does on my factory stands. I giggled and giggled, then finally said what the heck and bought two to try. When I received the adapters I was amazed at how fat these puppies are! Sure, it's just stamped sheet metal, but it's HEAVY DUTY steel with a nice finish. A very good quality. I can hardly get them to bend. So I removed the stand from one of my G277HLs and tried this adapter. It fits perfectly! I was very impressed to say the least. I now have two Acer monitors with these adapters and a Vesa compatible Samsung monitor mounted to my triple mount. , with a few caveats, is not Human Centric's fault at all. If you want to use these adapters with Acer G277HL monitors. 1) USE STABILIZER! Especially if you use an adjustable mounting system. Monitors shake a lot when you move unless you use stabilizers. 2) These adapters push the back of the monitor out of the Vesa plate about 2 1/2" (see photos and ignore the dust on my old monitors). Make sure your mounting system can handle the weight of your am 2 1/ Can support 2" arm hanging monitors. I have the tilt screws on my mount very tight to keep the monitors from sagging. That's not a problem with adapters, it's more about the options for attaching them.
