There are better stands for those who want to place their device on a hard surface and don't want a large cushion on it. This review is for those who like to watch in bed. I roll to the left, roll to the right, or place a prop on my stomach while watching movies. Tried foam and beanbag models, but they were either too light and flipped over, didn't maintain the correct angle when the mattress moved, or a protrusion on the stand obscured parts of the screen. This model actually offers pretty good shock resistance. The stand's angle adjustment is tactilely intuitive, allowing you to make adjustments without turning on the light. It does seem to roll a little at the rounded edges of the pillow, but the weight distribution compensates for this and also keeps it in place in the folds of the mattress. In terms of cost, this item is a bit pricey, but because it works so much better than other coasters when used in bed, it still costs less of a headache. Things the manufacturer could improve: Soften the foam a bit to improve grip on uneven surfaces. Add non-slip rubber to the collapsible part of the stand. Add an adjustable, sliding rubber arm to the top edge of the plastic tablet grip tab to prevent thinner tablets from rolling off when approaching a 90-degree angle.
