Review on 🚲 Steadyrack Mountain Bike Wall Mounted Rack - Efficient Home & Garage Storage - 2 Pack by Brandon Plowden

Great racks but difficult to mount through drywall

I had very little room to store my mountain bikes and my husband's bikes in our apartment closet. I chose these shelves based on the good reviews and ease of installation. Pros: Heavy duty, good hinge, great resources on their website to help you decide how to hang them (I had to wiggle due to a bottleneck). Cons: The included anchors for 1/2" studs for use in drywall or masonry aren't great. I went ahead and used them because I was able to get at least one bolt into the tree top and bottom. If you move the carrier away from the wall (some resistance when offloading the bike), the studs will come out of the wall a bit. I didn't have much choice as to where to install them (if I couldn't level them with studs, I had to deal with drywall due to the lack of space). But I strongly recommend that you either 1) get your own wall anchors OR 2) install them where you can level them with a stud. The actual stand design is phenomenal, so if you can mount the bracket securely to the wall then you're done. Overall I would recommend these shelves.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
