Amazing design. The thing just works great. I have a new hobby - collecting folding rules - weird I know. All in all, I like it better than the old wooden folding rules. When folded it is about 5/8 inch thinner than my wooden Lufkin folding rule. It folds up to about 1.25 inches longer. The picture shows it's pink on the sides but mine looks darker and purer red. It fits around 90 degree corners very well. It's a very crisp and precise action - you can definitely feel the Swiss precision. When fully unfolded, it flexes much less than a wooden ruler. It's tough but doesn't feel brittle. It feels sturdier and easier to position (e.g. when measuring furniture) than wooden folding rules. It's definitely easier to use than a tape measure. I highly recommend it.
