2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Just to note that other people don't seem to get this, but they're for full-height Jeeps, not ones with lifts. I bought a Wrangler with a lift a few months ago and had to bring it back to stock up on springs/dampers to diagnose some emerging transmission problems. Little did I know those bumps were basically dead as the Jeep bounced all over the place (which I thought was normal since I first met the Wrangler), but on the freeway when I was banging all over the back at speed hit a bump and shook a lot. It wasn't the same as the "death wobble" that is the front end and steering end, but due to the slight bumps on the lift when hitting bumps at high speeds, the rear end basically bounced up and down very quickly, which in Terms like jeep also mean to the left. And rightly so, because the caterpillar shifts its axis when it jumps. Of course it was dangerous and I had no idea it was a defective part that had been passed down to the Jeep from the previous owner. Through the installation (front and rear pair) it drove like a sedan, which was a shocking revelation. The highway bump in the rear is gone because the shocks are now doing their job and probably because the factory height is "safer" for Jeeps. That. My 2011 was horribly rusted on all the nuts and bolts and it took a while to unscrew the nuts for their top mounts. - Get an extension for your ratchet - Get a ratchet breaker - that's pretty cheap on port shipping and will save you the struggle if you're using hand tools. Use pliers to open the bottom bracket / or a grinder to shorten the bushing on the shock slightly. The last item on the list is probably the most time consuming. if you don't have the tools. The previous owner of my Jeep pulled the lower shock mounts and deformed the mount inward. Prying the bracket outward still didn't work for the shock, so I had to get a cut-off wheel on a grinder (just under $25 at the docks for a small hand-held electric grinder and a cut-off wheel) to lightly trim the bottom metal bushing of the bushing. I don't know if kyb made it longer than OEM or something, but otherwise it wouldn't work without cutting the metal. Very little should come off, and it's easy to snip off more than you need. Good luck with your installation as you will need it and follow proper safety precautions when using your grinder.
